The hotel building is clearly an early twentieth century construction in typical Venetian style on the site of a previous seventeenth century edifice. The present building, constructed in pressed granite, has an attractive Venetian layout, with interiors whose restoration was concluded in January 2002. The bedrooms, designed to the last detail, are a pleasure for the visitor to stay in and revive memories of an ancient Venice whose presence feels very near indeed.

A short stroll from St Mark’s Square is the Cà Del Dose Hotel, on the Riva degli Schiavoni, the best place for a walk to enjoy the sight of the city to the full.The Riva degli Schiavoni takes its name from the brave soldiers and valued allies of the Most Serene Republic who came from Slavonia, and this quayside was the heart of the thousand-year-long relationship between Venice and Istria. The Slavoni were the last to abandon Venice when the Republic fell in 1797. A plaque was set up near the hotel in 1997 to commemorate this Slav people’s great loyalty to Venice.
